Rhapsody
Rhapsody incorporates five different patterns executed in floss and metallic braid. Students will work with battlement couching to explore the effect of color placement on this technique. Laying threads and couching are emphasized in four other canvas patterns. The finished sampler of stitches fits well in a Sudberry box or makes an excellent small pillow to hang from a doorknob. Stitches learned in these squares can easily be used for small, quick ornaments.

Students will be evaluated on how well they have laid their threads, the neatness of their work, their tension, and how well the colors they have chosen work with their battlement couching.
