This bouquet will introduce the beginner to one method of working blackwork. The 8˝ x 10˝ design on 24-count Congress cloth will explore the use of double running, back­stitch, and forward/back to work the patterns. The piece will explore the different densities of blackwork patterns and their uses. The bouquet is worked in black floss for the major flowers, gray floss for the supporting flowers, and highlighted with gold ribbons in Nordic Gold and gold beads. The use of gray for the supporting flowers will help give the piece dimension.
