This small design features a detached flower as its focal point. This flower is worked on a separate piece of canvas, cut, and then stiffened before being added to the main canvas as an introduc­tion to stumpwork. Fibers including silks, floss, Kreinik, and Accentuate are used to work pulled thread, criss-cross Hungarian, small “t”, leaf, stem outline, backstitch, and French knots. The flower is done in random long and short stitches and is attached to the canvas with a cross stitch and French knots.
