This small design features a detached flower as its focal point. This flower is worked on a separate piece of canvas, cut, and then stiffened before being added to the main canvas as an introduction to stumpwork. Fibers including silks, floss, Kreinik, and Accentuate are used to work pulled thread, criss-cross Hungarian, small “t”, leaf, stem outline, backstitch, and French knots. The flower is done in random long and short stitches and is attached to the canvas with a cross stitch and French knots. |
