Softly Feathered
The Intermediate to Advanced student will experiment with shading canvas stitches. This 11" x 15" design is worked on a piece of #18 white canvas with floss and pearl cotton. The piece will explore 27 canvas stitches with shading. The stitches are mostly basic so that the student can concentrate on the shading. Then the piece will be enhanced with four Jean Hilton stitches and beads. The student will select their favorite floss color in five values in a monochromatic color scheme. Our design was inspired by the feather designs in quilting.
