| Description: | "The Gourd Ladies" is a set of 3 stand-up dolls and are worked on brown or gray 18-count canvas and range in size from 6 inches to 9.5 inches tall. Student choice (with instructor's guidance) is the focus of this class. First, students will determine the hue to be used in each doll. Major decision making and design development occur as students identify stitch families or complementary stitch groupings. The instructor will provide examples and demonstrations of various approaches ranging from the selection of a specific technique to finding and creating variations of a stitch motif. "The Gourd Ladies" is for the rather adventurous stitcher who does not necessarily view herself as a desinger, yet is willing to take risks. Stitch and color plan development is the focus of the class, instructor provided parameters and guidance will assure success for every student. Proficiency Level: Intermediate |
