2005 NATIONAL SEMINARQuest XII - 2005Magical Metallic In 2005, ANG will celebrate the twelfth year of Quest, a program offering needle artists an opportunity to create and exhibit an original piece of needlepoint in the ANG National Seminar Exhibit in Nashville, Tennessee. All members are encouraged to participate in Quest XII by demonstrating their design and stitching abilities based on the theme “Magical Metallic.” The only requirement is that the piece be 75 percent metallic with 25 percent the threads of your choice. Stitched pieces may be entered in the Original and Adaptation judged categories or in the non-judged category of the Exhibit, and must be designated as Quest entries. Creative interpretation is the key to success in the Quest challenge. While technical ability is always a factor, it is not a primary consideration in the Quest challenge. The primary considerations are excellence in color and design and the interpretation of the theme. All Quest entries will be evaluated by qualified judges who will focus on the creative interpretation of the theme. Each entry in Quest XII must be accompanied by an artist’s statement, explaining the needlework design and the interpretation as relevant to the theme. The artist's statement will become a part of the archives of the Quest program. Judges will review the artist’s statement, evaluate the relativity of the written material to the design and stitched needlepoint piece, and write a brief evaluation. Qualifying entries will receive the judges' evaluation and a special Quest Certificate of Completion. Quest is sponsored by the ANG Judging Certification Program |
