Students will explore the dimensional effects of this design by creating a scene on silk gauze, which they will paint beforehand and use random stitches to embellish. This scene will be placed behind a round Asian influenced doorway. On either side of the doorway will be a pair of vases. A climbing vine of wisteria will be added using silk ribbon embroidery. The embellished scene will be attached behind the doorway as if you were truly walking into an Asian garden.
