Our focus will be on celebrating and interpreting nature, specifically rocks and stones using silk and metallic embroidery. We will develop the background through voided areas and contemporary combinations of composed interpretative canvas and surface design stitches over acrylic-painted Congress cloth. Students will have a chance to create dimensional fabrics using metallics, netting, and dissolvable sheeting, and will be encouraged to experiment with new ideas and materials, such as making silk paper. Students will develop their own designs and will have initial choices of three colorways. Come play with us.
