The ANG Boutique
Albuquerque - "Different Drummer"
ANG is proud to offer a new Boutique at this year's Seminar. It will be run by Lilias "Sam" and "GripIt Dave" Ralph, who own the Different Drummer, a shop open in Albuquerque, NM for 3 ½ years as a source for fine needlework supplies. Sam Ralph, the owner, has been involved in the needle arts community for over two decades as the creator and manufacturer of "Gripit" brand stands, scroll frames and tools. The shop focuses on canvaswork, offering painted canvases, counted canvas charts and kits, and a wide variety of specialty threads ranging from silk, wool, and cotton through bamboo, metallics and soy. A variety of our "tools of the trade" are also available: frames, needles, stretcher bars, magnifiers, lights, scissors, and much more.
The Boutique's hours are listed in the Seminar handbook. You do not have to be registered at the Seminar to browse or buy at the Boutique. The Boutique accepts cash, checks, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa. The ANG Bookstore

The ANG Bookstore at the annual Seminar is a dream come true for all book lovers and stitchers. You can never have too many books, and this is your opportunity to browse through not only books specifically on needlepoint, but also about needlework and related textile arts in general.
Every needlepoint book in print -- and many that are out of print -- will be included in the ANG Bookstore in Baltimore. The Bookstore will be run again this year by Ruth Kern Books, the same company that ran the bookstore in prior years. Ruth prides herself on being a complete resource for books on the needle arts and, judging by the huge piles of books that went home with happy stitchers last year, she's succeeding admirably. Ruth will have:
- Those great self-published books by your favorite teachers and designers -- including those teaching at Seminar
- Fabulous imported books from around the world
- Books of stitches, all different kinds of stitches, from basic basketweave to laid filling stitches
- Books with projects
- Books about design and color
- Books your teacher has recommended especially to accompany your class
- Books that will inspire you and excite your creative urges
- Books that are hard to find locally because they are so specific to our special interests
- Books on the art of needlepoint
- Books on related arts: beading and kimonos and Elizabethan needlework and stumpwork and embellishment and samplers and ecclesiastical stitchery and Japanese embroidery and shading and needlework judging & teaching and fashion & costume and stenciling & marbleizing and shoes & fans. . . .
Well, you get the picture! Your only problem will be how to decide.
The Bookstore accepts cash, checks, Traveler's checks, MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express. You do not have to be registered for the Seminar to visit the Bookstore. We invite you to come look at our books -- you're sure to find something to your liking!
