"A NATURAL HIGH"DATE: SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 2008 The Palm Springs Aerial Tram on Mt. Jacinto is a true adventure, the dream of a young electrical engineer named Francis F. Crocker to "go up there where it's nice and cool." Construction of the Tramway was an engineering challenge and was soon labeled the "eighth wonder of the world.'' Some 20 years later, the Tramway was designated an historical civil engineering landmark. Along with the cable span, the Mountain Station stands as a fine example of the design work of E. Stewart Williams, who was instrumental in the modernist movement and development of Palm Springs as a truly special destination. The rotating cable cars are the most advanced in the world and guide passengers 2 1/12 miles up the mountainside to a height of 8,516 feet. Then you will have an opportunity to stop at the famous Palm Springs Strip for some shopping, lunch and exploring. PRICE: $75/pp ![]() Elvis & Priscilla's Honeymoon Estate
