Stitch of the Month
March 2001:
Double Straight Cross Stitch

by Joni Stevenson

The Double Straight Cross Stitch is lovely for borders. Many people choose this stitch for stars in the sky. Be careful to cross all of your cross stitches in the same direction.

When placed in a single row or column, the Double Straight Cross Stitch creates a lacy border.

When this stitch is used to fill an area on the canvas, the effect is highly texturized and dense.
