Leaf Stitch

The
Leaf Stitch is wonderful for trees, especially Christmas trees. It can
also be used for bushes and wreaths, or as a single leaf on a tree. The
stitch may be oriented upright (as diagrammed below), upside down or on
an angle. When choosing to stitch the Leaf Stitch on an angle it may be
helpful to chart out the placement of each stitch.

When
stitching with a stranded thread, be sure to lay your stitches
carefully, to achieve a very smooth effect. A denser thread, such as
perle cotton or wool will produce a much denser, heavier effect.
