Stitch of the Month
May 2002: Cross Stitch Plus Two

by Carole Lake

This stitch did not come out like I expected from looking at the diagram. That is why it's such a good idea to make stitch samples! This has a look of the half-Rhodes-half-drop but is much, much quicker.

I used Watercolours for my sample, and I thought it covered fairly well. This would have worked very well on an area of canvas painted to match. As it is, there are only a few dots of white showing.

This is a good stitch for geometric areas. It's also great for angel wings worked in Flair, Arctic Rays or Charleston. It also makes an elegant border. Try it; I think you'll like it.

Numbering for a single unit.
