is an interesting stitch because you can make the trellis portion (Step 1) as
large or as small as needed. In the sample, I worked it over 4 and 5
diagonal intersections. But it can also be worked over 3 and 4
intersections for a smaller trellis and 5 and 6 intersections for a larger
trellis. By itself (Step 1),
this is effective for a background, especially if you're using colored canvas.
And if you randomly place the crosses (Step 2) and the small flowers (Step 3),
you give the illusion of an entwining vine growing over a trellis in a garden setting.
