* In working with the #12 braids, I selected a vintage, a regular braid, and a high luster. While stitching I noticed that the #3215 appeared noticeably heavier than the other two braids, so I replaced the #12 with a #8 braid. Ideally, I would have preferred all #12 braids.

**In stitching the design, I used all of the #956 and had to break into a second card by less than 12”. Keep in mind that I was designing and unstitching, so it is possible one card may be sufficient.

Feel free to substitute threads that have a comparable weight, such as:

  • #5 pearl cotton for Vineyard Silk
  • Other strand (ply) threads for Splendor Silk.
  • Kreinik blending filament or cord for Accentuate
  • Blending filament (or Accentuate) plus Splendor for Silk Lamé
  • Mill Hill beads, Sundance beads, etc. in size 14° or size 11°
  • Finer or heavier weights of Kreinik braids to give you the look you desire.

*** One reel may be sufficient. Again, in stitching this design I went into a second reel to finish a few stitches.
