August 2011: Eight Point Star

Use thread #4_____ to stitch the small diamond Jessica in the center of your diamond.

The remaining layers use the same stitching sequence shown below but are positioned on the small squares, the small hearts, and the small circles. The first diagram shows the first half of the stitching sequence. The second diagram shows the last half for each layer for the first (the outside) layer. The two inside layers are stitched on top of the outside layer.

Just follow the numbers for this first half, then stitch the second half as shown below. The black arrows show the hole where the thread is coming up, the direction you are traveling and the hole the thread is going down in. The threads already stitched are shown in lavender in the second diagram. Follow the arrows to complete this layer. Use the same numbering applied to the heart to stitch the second layer and do he same for the circle for the last layer.

Use the same thread to stitch the first layer of the Eight point Star using the small squares in the diagram above as the base for the stitches..

Use thread #3_____ for the next layer, placement indicated by the hearts.

Use thread #2_____ indicated by the solid circles, for the last layer.
