Changing Colors
If you want to change the colors from a monochromatic red scheme to another monochromatic color scheme, use the following hints to select your colors:
- Light Colors: Grandeur
- Medium Colors: Soy Luster, Splendor, Kreinik Fine (#8) and Kreinik Tapestry (#12), ThreadworX, Waterlilies
- Dark Colors: Wildflowers, Panache, Trebizond, Kreinik Fine (#8) and Kreinik Very Fine (#4)
- Metallic: Kreinik Blending Filament, Kreinik Tapestry (#12), Kreinik Medium (#16)
- Neutral (white): Kreinik Tapestry (#12), Beads, Hearts
All overdyed threads are monochromatic (shades of one color) and not multiple colors.
If you want to choose another color, look for the overdyed threads first (ThreadworX, Waterlilies, Wildflowers) to find three that are in the same family and one light, one medium and one dark. Then select the other threads to fill in as listed above.
Changing Threads
Alternate threads that can be substituted for those threads that are used in the original design:
- Grandeur - Perle 5
- Soy Luster - Impressions
- Splendor - Floss
- Panache - Similar weight to Perle 5 but very shiny
- ThreadworX - Any overdyed floss (like Weeks Dye Works, Crescent Colors, Gentle Arts), or
- Waterlilies - overdyed stranded silk (like Gloriana, Thread Gatherer, etc.)
- Kreinik Blending Filament - Accentuate
