Metallic Backstitch

Thread: Kreinik Braid - 1 strand

Straight Backstitches

Fill open areas with small backstitches over 1 canvas thread as shown by the yellow stitches on the chart below.

*Note: If one of the backstitches slides under the canvas thread, do not try to remove it, simply add another stitch to that area.

Diagonal Backstitches

Begin this pattern on the diagonal line where the basting stitches were located.

There are 3 canvas threads between each row of Diagonal Backstitches. See chart below. Use Kreinik braid.

The central motif is not on the chart below. All rows of backstitches will share canvas holes with the central motif. See photograph for clarification. Notice that the Diagonal Backstitches change direction in each quadrant of the design.
