April 1998: Gobelin Stitch

This is another very versatile stitch. It can be worked vertically, horizontally and diagonally. It is very easy to compensate and can be worked over 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 canvas threads. Use this stitch for small areas where you want a smoother texture than Basketweave. It is also a great stitch for borders. Be sure to lay the threads to obtain an even finish.
