July 1998: Bound Cross

The Bound Cross Stitch is worked in squares over 4
canvas threads. It can be used as a single motif, as a
border or in horizontal or vertical rows. Use this stitch
in place of a Scotch stitch for greater texture. This
stitch can be worked in a single color thread or two
different colors, use one color for the first three
stitches and a second color for the top three stitches.
For a checkerboard effect alternate the colors of each
stitch motif.
