In the stitcher's home, over her desk. Every time she

11-year marathon fades into history. Mary Louise is so
glad she stitched this! |
| Description: |
Mary Louise had always wanted to "do" her
house. She finally "bit the bullet" when she
saw Patti Baker Russell's lovely work. Mary Louise gave
the canvas to her husband for Christmas in 1986. At about
28" x 36", it was ungainly to work on and she
kept putting it aside, often for several years at a time.
But her husband always found it, and Mary Louise finally
succumbed to guilt in the summer of 1997. She finished
the last tree at 4:00 a.m. and left it out for her
husband to enthuse over -- which he did, then asked
"why is that last tree trunk purple?" |
