Baroque

Stitcher: Linda Sellars, Michigan
Designer: Jean Hilton
Location: Hanging it in the stitcher's home (with the ribbon nearby)
Description: Linda has been an admirer of Jean Hilton for quite awhile so when her local needlepoint shop offered Baroque taught by Jean, Linda eagerly signed up. Jean Hilton uses straight stitches to create patterns and shapes that seem to curve. Linda really enjoy learning these stitches and using them elsewhere. She would love to possess such a gift but learning the stitches and then using them is the next best thing.

Baroque was a fun piece to stitch. Some of Linda's original color choices seemed to blend together in certain combinations so she made changes continuously, creating a pleasant surprise when completed. Other color combinations in the class were varied and interesting. It was quite an experience.
