Description: This piece was Lee's fourth workshop with Betty Chen Louis on optical mixing of threads. Since Lee has a very structured and mathematical mind, she loves the intricacy of blackwork patterns. In this piece, she was fascinated by trying to employ optical mix shading of various threads (both solid and overdye) in the very controlled framework of blackwork patterns. The piece was so interesting and challenging that Lee just could not put it down once she returned home from the workshop. She was really sorry to see the piece finished.
