Monarch and Friends

Stitcher: Jeannette Hein
Designer: Jeannette Hein
Location: In the stitcher's home, in front of her sofa where she stitches on her projects
Description: Jeannette's inspiration for this piece came from a photograph in the National Wildlife Magazine of a monarch butterfly resting on a flower. She designed three more blossoms and added leaves. Then she decided he needed some friends, so she added the bee, spider, ladybug and caterpillar around the edge.

Jeannette stitched this piece because she wanted a footstool to prop her feet up while she stitched, and because she is a lover of nature she chose this beautiful butterfly.

Jeannette's husband designed and built the footstool. He is a very fine woodworker and always eager to build anything she needs to fit a piece of needlework. They are a team.
