| Description: | Textures II was a class offered at a district seminar
that is hosted by the Greater Kansas City Needlepoint
Guild. Corrine took this class to have experience with
this teacher. Textures II is a study in creating textures
using a monochromatic color scheme. Textures II is stitched on 18-count canvas using Medici, Noppee silk, Marlitt, Soie d'Alger, Zwicky silk, pearl cotton (#3, #5, and #8), matte cotton, satin ribbon, Kreinik blending filament, Kreinik cord, beads, and Ultrasuede (flowers). For several years, Corrine had been hanging the crystal piece on her Christmas tree. As she looked at it, it seemed so similar to the shape of the Ultrasuede flowers that she decided to use it in the center of the piece instead of Susan's original design. The challenge was in finding someone who could cut it so it would lay flat on the canvas and then deciding how to attach it. Corrine has been pleased with the result. |
