| Description: | Taking this ANG group correspondence course is a
wonderful way to explore the almost endless variations of
the "ordinary" cross stitch. The elegance and
versatility of this design allow the stitcher to
experiment with threads, colors, and fabrics of her
choice, making the end result truly unique. Maxine decided to use one of her favorites of the Caron Watercolours, Meadow, in her piece. As she was choosing the solid colors to use with that thread, it occurred to her that emphasizing two of its principal colors, pine green and pink, could give Essamplaire I a garden-like theme. In using values of pine green for the border and some of the bands, Maxine sought to suggest evergreen hedges, and she felt that the values of pink and rose would accent the piece and suit the flower-like stitches very well. Once she started stitching she could not put the piece down. This was Maxine's first on-line group correspondence course and was a great experience. She urges everyone to take a look at the Web site showing the work of many of the stitchers who completed this course. It is inspiring to see the many beautiful color combinations; no two are alike. |
