Thimble Girl
| Stitcher: | Randi Oftedal |
| Designer: | Jane Feldman of Escondido, California |
| Location: | Hanging in the stitcher's home |
| Description: | Jane started out with the idea to design a Goddess of
Needlework, a Goddess that could bless everyone who is
involved in needlework through the years. Their EGA
Chapter, Threaded Needle, needed a new logo, so Jane made
some changes and the name became Thimble Girl. Threaded
Needle Chapter's logo pin has the Thimble Girl on it. Randi fell in love with Jane's design and went to work with chart in hand. Colors, threads, and stitches became a labor of love. She kept the colors in the blues and golds as they are the Chapter colors and also in Jane's suggestion. Threads in silks, metallic, rayon, chenille, and floss were used. Stitches were selected as best suited for the different areas where they are used. While Randi was working on Thimble Girl, she was thinking about all the friends she had found through the love of needlework. Young or old, it does not matter when you have something you all love. Age, race, and religion do not interfere, you become friends. |
