Jean
took a class on dying different fabrics. When she finished the class,
her thought was, "Now, what do I do with this 'stuff?"
With the above thought in mind, Jean started putting it on the dyed canvas, putting little bits of different materials on the canvas. In the back of her mind, she was remembering - focal point, overall appearance, the mat board, the frame, etc. She added a few beads here and there, and was pleased with the end result. She was encouraged to send it to the Atlanta exhibit, and was very happily surprised to receive a First Place ribbon. Jean suggests taking classes on every aspect of stitching: design, color, and different media to apply to the canvas. The end result might amaze you! |
