This was stitched to complete Amy's nativity set, including Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. Gabriel was an interesting combination of gold work, pulled work, laid filling, and random embroidery. Amy felt that the random flowing stitches in his hair and wings gave him grace, while the metals combined with the repetitive counted designs gave him a formal ecclesiastical appearance. |
