Description:

 This is a design sample for a class I teach, Getting in Shape…with Velvet.  The class involves learning to emboss velvet and focusing on a shape as an inspiration for creating the box top design.  My own inspiration for my sample piece was the shape of the stamp I use for embossing the velvet on the sides of the box.  I turned the stamp 45 degrees to create a diamond-shaped “envelope”, and then repeated the diamond idea in the stitches used and in the diagonal boundaries of the stitch areas.
