Description: |
Most
of my previous needlepointing consisted of Christmas stockings and
ornaments, so on my 80th birthday I felt the need for a challenging
project! I started the vest with 3 small-charted Victorian houses and then
just started stitching. I did not plan the design ahead, so it was fun for me to see how it
was progressing. Of course, I had to “reverse” stitch a lot when a particular
part didn’t look right to me. Since I had no previous art instruction, I challenged myself to see if I
could create this project. I had to fill in with lots of fences, trees, flowers and other
landscaping. This project also provided entertainment for my husband (a stroke
victim) as he watched me stitch and “reverse” stitch. . I’d heartily recommend that anyone try to create such a project
– it’s fun and gives a great feeling of accomplishment. |
