Description:

I took this class from Betty Chen Louis in January 1997.  It was something different.  I enjoy geometric designs and have had wonderful learning experiences in other classes I have taken from Betty; however, I was especially inspired with New York City Scape because my son and his fiancée were living in New York City at the time and were to be married in New York on June 29th of that year.  I thought it would make a wonderful (and personal) wedding gift.  They were very pleased when I presented it to them the evening of their rehearsal dinner.

Currently, I am "babysitting" New York City Scape. My son accepted a position as Associate Professor of Psychology at Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand, and he and his wife moved there in June, 1999.  Lucky for me that they did not want to risk the shipment of the piece, and I was able to have it to put in the exhibit.  I get to keep it a few more years!
