I stitched this piece, as I really like geometric designs with a variety of interesting stitches.  I stitched all of the outlines first and then filled in the pattern areas.  In the book, Susan describes a way to stitch perfect French knots as well as how to use the over dyed floss to advantage in creating symmetrical designs.  Susan provided an original color way for the piece and listed alternatives in the back of the book.  I chose the pink and gray color way to complement the fireplace wall of pink brick and gray mortar in our den.  It looks quite striking in the den.
