I
have always liked the soft warm colors of the Southwest and bought this
canvas on a trip to Santa Fe.
It became part of my stash for several years until I took a class
and learned about over dyed fibers.
I looked at this piece in a new way, and then suddenly, it just had
to be stitched!
The
embellishments were my daughter’s idea – the purple stone on the
middle Indian belonged to her.
As I was working on the piece, Katie was watching me and took off
her earring and put it on the Indian and said, “Mommy, this looks good
here – why don’t you do something different for each Indian?”
Now, Katie only has one purple earring! |
