Well, I would like to say that it is hanging in a gallery somewhere, or perhaps in a museum, but alas, I haven’t been discovered yet, so it currently resides in my studio along with most of the other pieces that don’t currently reside on the walls of my home. |

Description: |
The
piece is dedicated to my loving husband who watches me pursue my craft
much more than a normal person should pursue anything. I am thankful that
he tries to understand, and occasionally even appreciates my efforts.
Thanks, Gracie!
I stitched this piece for the same reason that I stitch most of my work: it’s inside of me and needs to come out. I stitch from the soul, and I feel that I am an artist first and a designer second. Most of my “artworks” are a collaboration of different mediums or different techniques. I am always exploring to see just how far I can expand myself and my medium of choice for any given project. Needlework in any form is for me a learning opportunity. I think the most important thing for anyone to know about my work in general is that it is very personal. It usually comes from the heart. Most of my ideas come to me in the middle of the night, usually fully stitched, and it is up to me to get the idea on paper well enough to be able to remember it in the morning. My friends tease me by asking if I stitch with my eyes closed. Unfortunately they don’t know how close to the truth that often is! |
