The funny part about this
piece is the fact that I took Debbie's class twice! The first time was in
Atlanta several years ago. Her stitches were complicated and I had a hard
time, especially since the design was on Congress cloth. It stayed in the
back of my closet for years.
Debbie decided to teach the piece for the
final time at Seminar 2002. Her class was my first choice. As I walked into the class,
Debbie told everyone I had already taken the class. We made jokes about it
the whole time. I was more relaxed and learned much more the second time
around. It paid off since the
piece is now finished and hanging on my wall, complete with ribbon, and
hanging near it are a picture of Debbie and me and a framed article/picture
in our local Jewish Times.
I was so excited and totally shocked that my piece won a ribbon. I have
entered many pieces in local, regional and national events. This was
definitely a first and a gigantic surprise.
Y'all send your pieces to the Exhibit, now, you hear? You might win a
ribbon!
