"My House" was an entry in this year's Quest
challenge, "Timeless Textures." The shape of "My House" was based on the
simple silhouette of a construction paper house that an elementary school
teacher brought to one of our Guild meetings to inspire our members to do
something creative.
I colored "My House" with mottled knitting yarn bricks and a red rayon door and roof, surrounded by fuzzy metallic grass and a Watercoloured sky with a shiny yellow sun. Bold Brazilian embroidery flowers climb over the door and around the window. It's a simple, timeless design stitched with a lot of textured threads. It was fun to do. |
