When I first saw a picture of "Patterns of the Orient" I knew I had to stitch it. All my life I've loved the Oriental touch in all facets of life. It is so calm and elegant and uncomplicated. I also enjoy a challenge, and using Tony's colors and choice of threads, I enjoyed every minute of stitching. I was actually disappointed when finished. Patterns are from fabrics of China, Japan and Korea and are worked with silk and with gold metals and metallics. Many different stitches are used, including Bargello, flat chevron, vertical couching, overlapping lattice, cashmere, Gobelin and elongated Hungarian. |
