When the purse is open it shows a poppy in full bloom. It is a painted design without stitch guide on 18-count black canvas. The flower is done in tent and basket weave stitch in Medici wool and Kreinik metallic braid - with the exception of the turquoise center of the flower which is a Smyrna knot. When the purse flap is opened these is a small cross section of the flower on a 1" stem to give some added interest. The background is done in alternating mosaic squares in Paternayan wool.
