Babes in the Woods

Name: Rosalyn Cherry-Soleil.

I am the original designer of both Babes in the Woods and Reflecting.

Babes in the Woods speaks of the Women’s Circle, the bonding of Women, the comfort of stories shared and the comfort of just being together even when one wanders away to have time alone in contemplation.

I surrounded myself with my stash of fibers and fabrics.  As I stitched, new ideas formed in my mind. One idea led to another as a story unfolded in my thoughts.
I like to give a piece a ‘working title’ so the piece has a focus. I this case, I had the story and the title arrived near completion.

The most challenging part of this piece was to arrange a pleasing composition for the women and the surrounding landscape.

I loved mixing colors and combining fibers to create my color palette
