NAME: Pamela D. Pabst

DESIGNER: Red Thread Designs (painted canvas)

This piece was first viewed on the website of a local store and I fell in love with it - I have nothing Asian in my home but was entranced by the woman looking outward from a window.  Others have commented that she looks as though she is looking into a mirror in deep introspection.  Whichever is the case she has a fascinating graphic look about her.  The stitches used were selected to enhance the textural feel of her red silk gown while maintaining a slight diagonal feel to accentuate the neckline.  The border designs were painted on the original canvas as outlines.  Rather than stitching them as outlined borders I selected stitches that would give the same overall design element but create a dimensional feel within the space.
