Out of the Box

NAME: Cathe B. McEnerney

DESIGNER: Meredith Barnhill-Willett/Cathe McEnerney

Inspired by classic and contemporary Goldwork techniques, I designed this piece within the context of Meredith Barnhill Willett's "Exploring Goldwork" class. While the class explored the materials and techniques of traditional English Goldwork, I explored creating a non-traditional design using the same class materials. Ultimately, I explored my own stash of materials as well as adding fabric, beads, Facets and imitation Japan Gold to the purls, bullions and spangles that we had used in the class. My first non-traditional work, it seemed only fitting to title it "Out of the Box"!
