Prelude to Peace

Stitcher: Kim Guhman

Designer: Jim Wurth

I loved this design and the many varied stitches and threads contained in it. I had only been needlepointing for a couple of years when I worked on this piece.  Although I had been cross-stitching since I was a child. I have found that needlepoint can offer a wonderful variety of possibilities for creativity, and Jim designed this piece so well I fell in love with it. However, I did change one thing, and since I am addicted to purple, of course I had to change the blue threads to purples, but I left the other tans, creams and browns as Jim did on his model. It was a joy to stitch, especially when at the beginning I worked the outline of the piece and the last stitch met up as it was supposed to with the first stitch. That always gives you a great sense of accomplishment.
