What is an ANG Chapter?
Is There One Near Me?

Chapter membership offers active participation and fellowship on the local level through programs and instruction in the field of needlepoint. Chapter dues are set locally and are in addition to national dues.

Each Chapter has its own personality. Belonging to a Chapter can be a wonderfully enriching educational experience -- getting to know fellow stitchers, sharing information about shops, classes and teachers, and enjoying the companionship of others in your area who enjoy your hobby.

A variety of colorful stitched name tags can be seen at any meeting. While individual creativity is encouraged, many Chapters have distinctive name tag patterns which they provide to new members. The examples in many of the listings below were created from these special Chapter designs for a display at a recent national seminar.

To find Chapter locations, click on one of the states (or "International") listed below.

In addition to chartered Chapters, there are several groups in the process of forming a chapter. To find out if there is an organizing chapter in your area, contact our Membership Office or the Vice President for Chapters/Areas. We would love to hear from you!

While email addresses are public information, the email addresses for the ANG Chapters are intended for guild business and membership only, and are not for commercial use.

CHAPTER VERIFICATION OF NATIONAL MEMBERSHIP

In accordance with ANG Bylaws, individuals must belong to ANG at the national level in order to be eligible for membership at the Chapter level. ANG has developed a user-friendly system for chapters when verifying current membership status prior to renewing or adding new members to their rosters.

Please note that only one person per Chapter will have access to the electronic verification system. If your Chapter membership representative is unwilling or unable to access the system via the Internet, another Chapter member may be assigned this task. If no Chapter members have access to the Internet, the membership representative will work directly with ANG’s Vice President for Chapters/Areas to verify member expiration dates.

To access the Member Verification System, click here.

For instructions on first-time use of the system, click here.

For instructions on use of the system during repeat visits, click here.

CHAPTER HANDBOOK ONLINE

ANG Area Representatives and the Vice President for Chapters/Areas produced a Handbook for Chapters in the fall of 2002, to cover multiple subjects of interest. It is a continuously evolving handbook, and contributions of and requests for additional subjects are always welcome. We hope it will provide answers for many questions, and sources of ideas to help with Chapter needs and problems.

We have provided the Handbook for Chapters for the use of all ANG members and nonmembers who are interested in ANG. Permission is granted to make copies of any or all portions of the handbook.

The following Chapter publications are available as PDF (Portable Document Format) files.

Chapter Handbook - Updated for 2006
Appendix B - Editing A Chapter Newsletter
Appendix D - Sunwest Publisher's form for submitting chapter information to Needle Pointers

The handbook is a very large document. The download time depends on your connection speed. Please allow plenty of time for download.
