Shoreline Stitcher’s Showcase is a judged exhibit of needlework that Needle Artists by the Sea (NAS) sponsors in even-numbered years. Anyone who pays the entry fee may enter their needlework. The showcase is an educational event that is open to the public for viewing as well.
The judged pieces may receive ribbons for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or Honorable Mention in each combination of Division, Category and Class. Additional awards include Best of Class, Judges’ Awards (one per judge) and Best of Show – Judge’s Choice and Popular Choice. The judges for this event are certified by ANG, EGA, and/or NAN.
We have enough display space for 300 entries. Entries may be any needlework that has been created by hand with a threaded needle. Members and friends of NAS put the display up on the Friday before the event and bring it down after the event closes on Sunday. Additional volunteers staff the event as docents to answer questions from the public.
In addition to the entries, the public may shop at the boutique, purchase opportunity tickets to win baskets of goodies, and learn more about embroidery and the chapters that provide educational opportunities. Members and friends of NAS donate the Opportunity Baskets and items for the boutique.
You can find out more about the divisions, categories, and classes on the NAS website: NeedleArtistsByTheSea.org.
