Board of Directors

The ANG Board of Directors includes the President, President-Elect, Vice President for Education, Vice President for Membership, Vice President for Operations, Secretary, and Treasurer. There are five elected Area Representatives, each representing a specific area of the country (Eastern, South Eastern, North Central, South Central and Western.)

The President serves a two year term as the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible all aspects of ANG’s operations. The President serves as ANG's representative to the International Council of Needlework Associations (ICNA) and The National Needlework Association (TNNA).

The President-elect serves during the President's 2nd year. During this year, the President-elect trains in all areas of the President's responsibilities and performs the duties of the President in the President's absence.

The following Board members may serve a maximum of 2 two-year terms:

The Vice President for Education oversees ANG’s distance learning and certification programs, prepares the Education Directory for publication in Needle Pointers, and supervises the National exhibit at seminar.

The Vice President for Membership is involved with members, chapters and the Area Representatives. The VP for Membership also represents the Life Patrons.

The Vice President for Operations is responsible for contract management within ANG. The VP for Operations is involved in the development of requests for proposals, evaluating proposals, recommending the award of contracts and evaluating contract performance.

The Secretary prepares minutes of all official meetings of ANG. In addition the Secretary maintains the official copies of the ANG Bylaws, Standing Rules, Policies and Procedures, and Criteria and Guidelines. The Secretary distributes electronic templates for ANG logo-imprinted materials.

The Treasurer serves as the Chief Financial Officer of ANG overseeing all financial aspects of ANG's operations.

 

Our Mission

ANG is an educational, non-profit organization whose purpose is educational and cultural development through participation in and encouragement of interest in the art of needlepoint. ANG defines needlepoint as any counted or free stitchery worked by hand with a threaded needle on a readily countable ground.
