What is the Seminar?

Each fall the American Needlepoint Guild holds its Seminar and Exhibit. The site for this festive event changes from year to year, moving from one area of the United States to another. Members from throughout the United States and Canada, as well as from other countries, gather to join in the wonderful educational opportunities, fellowship, shopping and just plain fun.

The 2008 Seminar will be held in Indian Wells, CA, September 5-12, 2008. The Seminar Brochure, containing detailed information and registration material, was mailed to all ANG members along with the March 2007 issue of Needle Pointers.

Participants will mingle with old friends and new friends who love needlepoint, taking classes, attending the exhibit and shopping in the Bookstore and Boutique . In addition to seven full days of wonderful classes, the Seminar includes a Welcome Banquet, an Awards Banquet, a Silent and Live Auction, the Needlework Expo!, and tours, plus "Teaching Excellence" on the opening day. Other activities include the First-Timers’ Orientation Party, Welcome Banquet, Chapter President and Officers Meeting, Membership Meeting, Silent Auction and Live Auction, Needlework Expo!, Life Patron Luncheon, Teachers’ Showcase, and Awards Banquet.

Even if you are not registered for classes at Seminar, there are wonderful opportunities available for you. The Exhibit displays fabulous needlepoint and is free and open to the public. Submissions are expected from all over the needlepoint world. As always, the Boutique and Bookstore are favorite spots to visit and are also open to the public. The Boutique carries an array of fine supplies for needlework and accessories, while the Bookstore carries a full line of new and pre-owned books on a whole range of techniques and topics associated with needlework.
