- About ANG
A friend’s daughter lives and works in Japan as an award winning Wedding Photographer. Natalie’s many images taken of brides in Kimono’s under Cherry Trees dripping with Blossom was the inspiration for this design. While working the three-dimensional Kimono I kept imagining the texture of fabrics. A piece of antique Japanese fabric set the thread colours selected with sections of the fabric sewn into the Kimono. Textured threads from Rainbow Gallery allow some glitter to be subtly added. There are over 23 stitches: traditional and variations of needlepoint and embroidery stitches. Silk ribbon in 13mm and 7mm create the Blossom. Petals drifting in a gentle breeze form the background.
Note: Required Partial Kits will be supplied with antique Japanese fabric until supply runs out. Merrilyn will find a close substitute afterwards. The partial kit includes rare silk ribbons and hard to find threads. Remaining threads to be supplied by student or purchased as optional kit. Contact email@example.com for a listing of student supplies.
