|Tucson Cancellation 2020: FAQ|
Dear ANG members:
It is with great sadness that I announce that our 2020 Seminar in Tucson, Arizona has been canceled. After much discussion with our Board of Directors, our management team, and the Westin La Paloma Resort and Spa, it was determined that this was the best course of action. With the limitations on large gatherings caused by the COVID-19 virus and the uncertainty of when those limitations will end, it would be irresponsible to go ahead with the event.
At this time the Board has a lot of work to do to cancel the event, and we appreciate your patience as we work through these issues. We do hope to provide some Seminar events virtually - more information on that will be provided in the near future.
I am so sorry that we won't be gathering in Tucson this August. In the meantime, I encourage you to check out the many online programs that ANG has available to members, plus the Holed Up Minis (HUM) projects which are available to everyone.

Information on planned content for Seminar 2020
The ANG Board of Directors has been closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation in Tucson and across the country. Although we recognize that the desire to come together and stitch as a community is still here, the risk presented to our attendees is too high. With stitchers traveling from all over the country, some from locations where rates of infection are still high, and others who thankfully have it under control, the risk of spreading COVID-19 to at risk populations and their loved ones upon their return home was too great. Needless to say, this was a complicated decision. While we all hope that the spread of coronavirus is controlled by August, it was necessary to make the decision well in advance, so that registrants, teachers, volunteer leaders, and potential registrants could adjust their plans accordingly. All registrants will be refunded the full amount paid to date, via the original payment method.
If you paid via credit card you will receive a refund directly to the card, if you made balance payment via check, you will receive that amount back via check. All refunds will be processed by June 15. If you have not received your refund by that date please contact ANG at email@example.com so we can address the matter.

We are exploring all options for potentially providing online options for some events. The online ANG auction, which traditionally is held over the Seminar dates, will take place and will likely be bigger and better than ever, with some of the in person auction items included this year. Anyone who purchased a bag as part of registration will be refunded as part of the registration refund process ANG has an inventory of bags and they will be available for purchase in the coming weeks. [Return to top]

who made a hotel reservation must cancel their reservation. The hotel
is not able to cancel all room reservations in the ANG Seminar room
block. To cancel your reservation the hotel is directing you to their

Unfortunately, there are so many moving parts to Seminar it is not able to be moved to a later date, and given the uncertainty surrounding the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic, the decision was made to cancel the in-person event. Discussions are taking place to bring Seminar back to Tucson for the 50th Anniversary in 2022. [Return to top]
Unfortunately, due to the timing, uncertainty, and health concerns of the Covid-19 Pandemic, ANG had to cancel both the 2020 Seminar and Encore!
However, we are looking forward to seeing you at our 2021 events!
While Seminar represents a tremendous investment of funds, resources, time, staff support, and volunteer contributions to make it work, ANG is fortunate that our finances are diversified enough so that we can continue operations despite this year's cancellation. Since an event of this size and scope requires 12 months of planning, there are some financial expenditures that we cannot recoup, but ANG is still able to continue to provide our Needle Pointers magazine, online learning, website information for members.
Having said that, ANG strives to continually provide excellent programs and education at reasonable costs. Your support makes this possible. We appreciate our members.
