 Get ready for Encore!   ANG is bringing back some of its most popular classes for you to enjoy in a small class setting.  Meet your friends in St. Louis for two days of stitching and fun. 

Class size is limited to 18, ensuring significant time and attention with some of the finest needlepoint instructors in the field.

If you are local or don't want to commit to two days of class, you can register at the Camaraderie category, which allows you to spend your days stitching in the ANG area, and join the group for lunches (included).

Registration Options

Class registration: $495 - Includes:

  • Two days of instruction (each class is two days) - scroll down for class options
  • Lunch on Saturday and lunch on Sunday

NOTE:  

  • Class Kit fees for each class are additional (see each class description) and are due at time of registration.
  • Size is limited to 18 in each class.
  • Registration is on a first come, first served basis.
  • The deadline for registration is February 28th, but register early to guarantee your spot.
  • If you need to cancel before 2/28 you will be refunded your registration fee less a $75 Cancellation Fee. After 2/28, there will be no refunds.

 Camaraderie registration:  $275 – Includes:

  • Opportunity to sit and stitch in the ANG General Stitching Area
  • Lunch on Saturday and lunch on Sunday

  • Class registrants must select ONE class.  Each class will take place over two days.  
  • Class size is limited to 18 registrants.   Registration fee includes instruction only.  Class materials (see each class description for details) is additional and must be paid at time of registration. 
 

Class - Winter Lights

Jennifer Riefenberg

 The magical warmth of lights in the cold, snowy winter months glow in this peaceful and engaging design. A splendor of stitches and the palette of blues and purples are complemented by the fiery, orange and gold flames. Learn some new stitches or possibly, new adaptations on some known stitches plus, you get to try out some of the new mesh tubing in your piece. Come, sit by the lights and share the beauty of winter.


Proficiency Level: Intermediate
Design Size: 6” x 8”
Kit Cost/Contents: $110; #18 canvas, silks, metallics, wool, and mesh tubing
  

Class - Beaded Bermuda Reef

Kathy Rees

Create your own reef with a variety of threads, textured stitches, and beaded embroidery. Layers of threads and stitches create the triangular areas around the “reef” of beaded embroidery. Students can reproduce Kathy’s beaded design area but will also be encouraged to put their own spin on it. Kits will include a bead package, but students will also be able to select from an assortment of beads and embellishments that are brought to class.

Proficiency Level: Intermediate

Class - Hearts Gone Wild

Nancy Cucci

Calling all heart lovers! Outlined with purple metallic on student's choice of white ground, “Hearts Gone Wild” offers you the opportunity to stitch more hearts than you ever thought possible in one project. The colors are fun; the threads and stitches are varied. This heart sampler consists of sixteen boxes full of hearts and is stitched with floss, pearl cotton, Kreinik, over-dyed threads, and accentuated with beads. A wide variety of stitches and techniques are used including Tent, Scotch, Milanese, Pavilion Diamond, Plaid, Criss-Cross Hungarian, and Reversed Scotch. 

Proficiency Level: Intermediate
Design Size: 9¼” x 12½” on 18 ct canvas
7” x 9¼” on Congress cloth
Pre-Stitching: 6-8 hours.
Kit Fee & Contents: $130 (18 ct canvas) or $120 (congress cloth); marked canvas, instructions, and all the metallics, floss, pearl cottons, over-dyed floss, rayons, and beads to complete the project.


2020 Encore! Faculty


 
Nancy Cucci (Hearts Gone Wild)

Nancy, of Huntington Beach, California, earned her B.A. in Physical Education from UC Santa
Barbara and holds Lifetime Standard Secondary and Community College Teaching Credentials.  

In 1985 Nancy began teaching classes at local needlepoint shops and presenting programs and workshops for needlepoint guilds in Southern California. She is a member of EGA, TNNA, NETA, Golden Needle Society, and an ANG Life Patron. Nancy began teaching on the national level in 2004 and is always happy to have the opportunity to share her energy and lifelong enthusiasm for stitching with her students.

 
Kathy Rees (Beaded Bermuda Reef)

Kathy learned to cross stitch at 14 and has never stopped using a needle. After earning a business degree and working in the corporate world, she began managing her family’s needlework shop, teaching classes, designing counted canvas, and eventually committing herself to designing and teaching. She enjoys working with color and multiple overdyed threads.

Kathy has taught at EGA chapters, EGA regional and national Seminars, ANG Seminar, TNNA’s wholesale trade shows, and lectures and teaches at shops and guilds throughout the US and online. Her designs have won numerous ribbons and awards and she has been published in Needlepoint Now.

 
Jennifer Riefenberg (Winter Lights) 

Jennifer loves teaching others, both the skills and the pure love and joys of art and creativity. She holds Teacher and Judge certifications through NAN. Jennifer is the Assistant Director of Judging for NAN. Jennifer teaches her designs locally, regionally, and nationally and has won numerous awards for her works.

Jennifer is the photographer for NAN and EGA Seminars. She is also an artist, painting primarily in oils, and a winner of national and regional awards. She is a fourth-generation Colorado native and has degrees in engineering and mathematics.

ANG defines needlepoint as any counted or free stitchery worked by hand with a threaded needle on a readily countable ground.
